Beware! Very bad inventory control, exceptionally slow order processing, and terrible customer service! I placed an order for an item in mid-October. After close to one month, I had not received notification of shipping so I called customer service. I was told that the order had been cancelled despite the fact that I was not notified of the cancellation. The agent apologized, explaining that the merchant had transitioned to new ownership and there had been problems processing orders. She re-ordered the item for me, assuring me that there would be no problem this time. I received the order confirmation on Nov 11. Five days later I called and was told that the order was being processed and would be shipped out on Nov 17. I called again on Nov 19 because I had still not received a shipping notifcation-- I was told it was cancelled on Nov 17 because the item was no longer available. No email was sent about this. The agent said that this was not unusual. I will no longer buy from Spiegel. |

I recently made a purchase on the Spiegel website and returned it within 30 days because it didn't fit. Unbeknownst to me, Spiegel has been struggling financially and has filed for bankruptcy since my return was received and they are unable to honor their return policy and provide me with a refund. When I called to ask when I would receive my credit this evening (6 wks since they received the returned merchandise - still tagged and in the condition they require for returns), I was told that the company could not provide a refund due to bankruptcy, nor could they provide any other type of compensation. I asked them to send me back the product and they told me that they could not do that either. They further indicated that the only returns being honored at this time, were those received in the past couple weeks since filing for bankruptcy and even those, they are only able to offer store credit. |

I have ordered from the Spiegel website now a number of times. I very much enjoy the site. ( although my pocket book doesnt as much!!!) Anyways, I appreciate the variety of styles available. There are clothing for every style one could want. I will most definetly be a returning customer and look forward to getting my item I just purchased! Thank you again for offering this site! |

Spiegel was easy and straightforward. I filled in my ship to address and it automatically copied it to my bill to address which really saved me time. Also, by only adding a password I was able to create a Spiegel account for later use. Loved it! |

I ordered an item carried in stock by Spiegel from another merchant in order to receive free shipping. Most specials that I take advantage of include free shipping. I think Spiegel's shipping rates are higher than most and I would order more from Spiegel if the shippings charges were free or at least reasonable. Also, I think the standard shipping times are longer than other merchants. |

Great Site and good pictures to see what you're purchasing. They are also true to size so, just look at the Measurements chart and you're good to go. I love Speigels and Newport News. THEY ARE "BY FAR" THE BEST IN QUALITY, SELECTION AND SALES ON THE WEB. |

Very nice website that flows from page to page. There aren't many photos of the items, nor does it show you the item in alternate colors. The size choices were awesome. They need to list a sizing chart for Petite though. I have a couple of complaints: once you have placed items in your cart, the option to move them to a wish list would be extremely helpful; the shipping, handling, and tax charges were exorbitant. |

Excellent Value! Looking forward to receiving shipment! This item was on backorder til later this month. I received an email stating the backorder would be middle of November. I was surprised to learn they had cancelled my order. I used a store credit from a previous return on this order and paid the rest on a credit card. My credit card was NOT billed and I received a check in the mail for the amount of the credit I used. Great customer service - I didn't have to call & cancel the order (which I would have done) nor did I have to call & request the credit (which I would have done)! This company just did it for me - I'm impressed! I would still like the item ordered and hope it will be available in November - in time for Christmas. |

The shipping rates are ridiculously high. And so are the merchandise prices, for the most part, unless items are on sale. I would never shop here unless I had a gift card, which I had today. |
