I've come to the conclusion that Gamestop does not want my money. I tried placing three orders with them. The first one was canceled - I thought this was due to an address mismatch (I just moved), so I both emailed and called them and tried to get it straightened out. It turns out that I got flagged by their "verification" system, and they couldn't tell me anything other than that, and couldn't help me at all. A bit irritated, I gave up. A couple days later, I decided to try again. I placed an order under a new account, in order to try and see if the old account was just blacklisted because of the address screwup. Canceled again. I created a new account and used a different credit card in case that was the problem. Canceled again. At this point, I called their customer service (who told me again they couldn't help) and asked for a supervisor. A guy named Robby came on the line, and I was able to get him to admit that they CAN help, but they just WOULDN'T. |

I consistently get bad service with Gamestop/ebgames. I find that this company is blatantly dishonest. I guess I should have read the reviews before making purchases with these guys. My latest issue is that I purchased a game on 15 February with guaranteed delivery on the 16th (the game's release date) by using/paying for overnight express delivery. The website specifically stated, 'Pre-order by February 15 at 11am CST with overnight shipping and get guaranteed delivery on the street date of February 16!” Additionally, the product's status was listed as 'In Stock.” On the 19th the order status was still listed as pending. I attempt to cancel the order, a window opens up giving me an error stating that I was not able to cancel my order at this time. I sent an email to the company. The next day Gamestop responded with, "Your order shipped on 2/19/10." According to the UPS tracker, the billing information was received at 9:35 PM on the 19th! |

Placed order on Thursday, received Monday. Paid for overnight delivery. Tried to call their customer service during their operating hours, keep getting "call back later". Sent email they send me to their website. Still haven't received compensation for slow delivery. |

A preorder placed Aug 11 shipped Sept 12 with UPS 3-day shipping; item was misdelivered and the UPS trace did not successfully locate it after the standard 8 business days for the trace. That was about 3 weeks ago. Calling them on the phone they insist that I simply wait longer, e-mails are never replied to. This company is keeping my money and seems to be refusing to actually find a way to get me what I ordered. In my opinion this company is a complete fraud. Stay away!!! |

I pre-ordered about 3 games with the exact same release date back in 2001. When the release dates for the items kept slipping (at least 4 times, not Gamestop's fault), they kept updating their site with the new dates, but did not send update emails. I ended up paying way more (3x) on shipping because all the items were shipped separately. Don't see too many sales, and prices are standard retail price like in most other stores. Great packaging though, and fast shipping. Safe shopping! |
